We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice teaching assistant to join our Oaklands School Team.  This role will see the successful applicant join our established team in supporting children in their learning.  you will work closely with the our team to ensure that their eductaion and wellbeing both thrive.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and flexible Apprentice Teaching Assistant to support our children, with the flexibility to work across the school. You will work with a team of experienced teachers and TAs who will help you on your way building skills in a rewarding and fulfilling career. 

The successful candidate must have a good standard of English (written and spoken) and Maths to enable them to model and support our children appropriately, as well as excellent interpersonal skills. Experience working with children is essential.

At Oaklands, TAs work across a phase with a specific focus on a vulnerable children.  This role will be working across the school focusing on a range of subjects and skills.  The role will initially be fixed term depending on the apprentiship (18 months - 2 years) and the post is 30 hours a week over 38 weeks of the year.  While there are no guarentees, many Apprentices are successful in staying at Oaklands as a TA or beyond. 

THIS IS AN APPRENTICE ROLE.  Apprentice wage is £4.81 an hour for under 19s or the First Year of the Apprenticeship.  After the first year, the wage move to the minimum wage for the age £4.81 (under 18s) up to £9.50 (25 year old and over).

Oaklands School is a Good school ( July 2023 report ) with results which are at or above national averages. We are a two form entry primary school situated in Walderslade.

The school is set in extensive grounds and is well resourced, including our own swimming pool offering swimming from Year R through to Year 6, a Forest School, our very own Farm, training kitchen, Art & Design Room, Radio Station, Running Track other superb opportunities for outside learning.

We offer wrap around care including breakfast and after school facilities to support working families. At Oaklands there is a very strong sense of being a team with dedicated staff whose aim is to offer our children a first class education.
