Temple Grove Academy (“TGA”) is looking for skilled, experienced and enthusiastic Forest School Practitioners to develop and deliver an exciting new Saturday morning programme.

Temple Grove Academy benefits from vast grounds which have been developed and used by its teaching staff to offer a weekly Forest School experience to local children. The school has recently commissioned the development and further creation of Forest School-dedicated sites on its grounds, including a bespoke outdoor classroom. TGA’s vision is to reach children beyond its catchment area and become a leading forest school provider. TGA believes that the Forest School programme support the development of children’s confidence, social skills, communication, motivation, physical skills, knowledge and understanding. As a first step, TGA is thus looking to offer a Saturday morning programme.

TGA is looking to recruit a Forest School Leader for 6hrs a week on Saturday mornings.

The Practitioner will be self-motivated and a good communicator, able to confidently liaise with our school and engage groups of children ranging in age from 7 to 11. We are excited to be now looking for the right person to join our friendly team and help develop the Forest School offering to the community. This would be offered to local children as a paid for regular club.

The post is fixed term for 1 year with an opportunity to review, part time 6 hours – Saturdays. and is based on site at Temple Grove Academy. We offer a competitive Salary Range of per annum full time equivalent. Further benefits include access to staff CPD where required.

Information about the school

Temple Grove Academy is a one-form entry primary school located in Tunbridge Wells (near High Brooms train station). It has been managed by the Temple Grove Academy Trust since 2011 and has since achieved a Good rating from Ofsted in September 2019. In all five areas of judgment:

TGA’s school sits on 4 acres of land in the Sherwood Park area of Tunbridge Wells. The school has already heavily invested in its Forest School endeavour through the following infrastructure:

TGA aims to, over time, further improve its facilities in order to become a local Forest School leader and offer not only year-round weekly sessions but also holiday camps and term time sessions to other local primary schools.
