Swale Academies Trust is seeking to appoint a Trustee/Director to join our established Trust Board.

Our Trust is one of the South East’s leading Multi-Academy Trusts comprising 19 primary and secondary schools. Our purpose is to develop good and outstanding schools and ensure the rapid improvement of schools with challenges. Our Trust Board is an experienced group of Trustees/non-executive Directors who hold the executive to account through a process of robust challenge and support. 

The role entails a minimum of six Board meetings per year, usually based in Kent and in person (with the option to attend virtually if required), and a place on a sub-committee, such as Audit and Risk, Remuneration or the Secondary Executive Board. The areas of expertise we are looking for are as follows:

  • Secondary Education
  • Human Resources
  • Finance/Audit
  • Estate Management
  • Health and Safety

Since its creation in September 2010 Swale Academies Trust has become a strong and successful school improvement service, specialising in taking schools in Ofsted category and turning them into good schools. A glance at the most recent Ofsted reports for Westlands Primary School, Meopham School, The North School, Regis Manor School and The Sittingbourne School, will all point to the effectiveness of the Trust in bringing about change and providing and enabling excellent leadership.
