We have a vacancy for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant here with us at Sandwich Infant School linked to high needs funding. This is a temporary position for a February 2023 start, until July 2023.  

You will work alongside a strong team of teachers and teaching assistants in a Reception classroom, supporting a child with SEMH and Communication and Interaction needs. You will be delivering interventions around these needs, as well as supporting the child’s engagement in lessons. 

Experience of working with children with a range of Communication and Interaction, and SEMH needs would be beneficial, but not essential.  A flexible approach is essential as well as initiative and the ability to take forward ideas.

This position is Monday-Friday, term time only, 8:45am to 3:00pm. (26.25 hours per week). The job is linked to high needs funding, and will therefore be a temporary position, until July 2023.

Sandwich Infant School is a two-form entry school housed in a Victorian building. We enjoy close links with the community, the church, local nurseries and Sandwich Junior School. We are part of Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust (www.aquilatrust.co.uk) and are a member of the STAR (Sandwich Town and Rural) Alliance.
