We are seeking to appoint an experienced leader to join our senior leadership team as an Assistant Headteacher. The successful candidate will be joining the school at an exciting time of development and improvement.   

The role might suit someone with mainstream experience as a SENCo/ Inclusion Lead or middle leadership experience in a special school.  

Key duties will include:

Undertake the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead, being part of a large safeguarding team

Oversight of the day to day operational matters within your phases (EYFS and the STEPS (complex ASD) pathway)

Providing outreach support to local mainstream Primary Schools and early years settings

Line Management of key stage and curriculum pathway leaders within your phase

Lead on and contribute to, school development projects across the whole school and those specific to your phases of the school

Strategic oversight of EHCPs

The Wyvern School is a large, dynamic, forward-looking school, with the aim of helping to shape best practice for pupils with complex needs. The school caters for 350 pupils with severe, profound and complex needs including autism.
