We require a highly organised, self-motivated and suitably experienced person for the post of Clerk to the Governing Body. The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational, communication and ICT skills and maintain confidentiality at all times.

The Clerk will:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the Local Governing Body and prepare meeting agenda papers;
  • Take accurate minutes at meetings and distribute within the agreed timescale;
  • Give procedural and legislative advice to the Local Governing Body; and
  • Maintain and develop their own knowledge and skill base through CPD.

Attendance will be required at governors meetings, which are generally held in the evening and a minimum of 10 hours per week is required for the post. Salary is payable at an hourly rate and will be negotiable depending on experience.

A proven track record within administration is essential; experience of a school environment is desirable.
