At ACE Learning we are looking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Catering and Hospitality Manager to work in and oversee the kitchens in our 2 trust schools. Both schools have experienced catering teams and produce meals for our pupils, staff and the local nursery in Hamstreet.


The Catering and Hospitality Manager role is to manage and support the catering operation and ensure its success

  • ensuring that both kitchens operate safely within the caring, supporting and stimulating ethos of the Trust
  • ensuring nutritious, healthy and good quality meals are prepared for both children and adults
  • producing seasonal menus incorporating nutritional standards which are popular with pupils as well as nutritious
  • line managing all kitchen staff and regularly meeting with deputies 
  • monitoring health and food safety and adherence to Trust and external policies and standards
  • ensuring that the catering function adheres to Trust budgets and procurement rules

The successful applicant will be required to work around 37 hours per week these can be discussed at interview. 

The salary will be Kent Range 6 £21,801 - £23,626 full time (actual pro rata salary £19318 - £20,935)  - 37 hours per week Term Time only. 40 working weeks per year, plus 2 weeks out of term time.  The successful candidate will be expected to:-

  • Have relevant catering qualifications (essential)
  • Be experienced in ordering ingredients, managing stock levels, preparing and serving good quality food (essential)
  • Be able to work in a school kitchen, using catering equipment and leave the environment clean after every session (essential)
  • Be experienced in working in a large school kitchen or catering environment (essential)
  • Have a desire to serve good quality food to children and school staff, in line with government legislation
  • Be a good team player, flexible and prepared to use their initiative
  • Be someone who enjoys working with children
  • Be prepared to work both independently and within a team
  • Be committed to their own professional development
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Have good organisational skills
