Due to expansion in our provision, we are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team, working term time plus 70 Inset hours, which are currently held on a Tuesday after school 15.45-17.45. This would be between the hours of Monday to Friday 8:45 am – 3.45 pm (Negotiable on interview). You will be supporting pupils with autism in all areas of the curriculum under the guidance of the Lead Occupational Therapist.

The successful candidate will need to have had some experience working as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist with children and young people who have ASD, DCD and ADHD. As an Occupational Therapist you will be using standardised assessments, clinical observations with a focus on school occupational performance and enabling independence including treatment of children and young people for sensory and motor differences. All pupils have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP), which the Occupational Therapy assessments contributes to. 

Applicants should have been working at a Band 5 or 6 Paediatric Occupational therapist and have some experience with Sensory-motor approaches such as Sensory Circuits use of Sensory Diets. We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and resilient person who enjoys working with young people within a school setting.

Information about the school

Ripplevale School is an independent day special school for pupils aged from 6 to 18 years old who have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) with a diagnosis of ASD, often with associated conditions.

Ripplevale School is situated over two sites. Ripplevale Lower School is situated in Broadstairs, teaching a Primary provision and Ripplevale Upper School is based in the village of Ripple near Deal, for our Secondary and Post 16 provision.

We have a committed and dedicated team which includes teachers, teaching assistants, higher level teaching assistants, a range of therapists, administrative staff and support staff. All play a significant role in the education and development of each pupil and work to create a warm, informal, friendly atmosphere in which the pupils feel secure, safe and confident.
