We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, friendly and committed Office Junior to provide effective administrative and clerical support to the Office Manager and school staff. Energy and commitment, combined with excellent administrative and organisational skills will be essential, as will the ability to multi-task whilst keeping a calm nature and happy disposition. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to relate equally well to parents, pupils and visitors; it is important to bear in mind that you will be the first point of contact for all parents and visitors to the school

Prior experience of working in a school setting would an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided. You will field phone calls to the office, provide general administration support as required within the team, and work within school policies to ensure confidentiality at all times. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and will have good working knowledge of office management systems, Microsoft Word/Excel/Google. You will also be responsible for administration associated with attendance and some data management, so experience of using a school MIS system would be an advantage but not essential as training can be given.

You will be: • Highly organised, able to meet set deadlines and have the ability to multi-task  (Workload can be demanding and eye for detail and accuracy whilst working to tight deadlines in essential) • Friendly, with a good sense of humour • Flexible, with the ability to prioritise work effectively • Able to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative • Willing to work hard and contribute within a small and dedicated team.

The successful applicant will have a good standard of education with a minimum requirement of English and Mathematics at GCSE (C) or equivalent.  

Salary: National Minimum Wage.  8.30am -  4.00pm (30 minutes lunch break, 7 hours per day)  Monday to Friday. Term time only.

Hamstreet Primary Academy is part of ACE Learning Multi Academy Trust and has a PAN of 315 pupils. The school is located south of Ashford in a village setting. The school has excellent facilities including a woodland, swimming pool, well stocked library and first class ICT resources. It serves a wide catchment area with pupils attending from the village and surrounding areas.
