Cross Keys Learning are recruiting a Tecaher for our Womenswold (Canterbury) site with a focus on Maths and Science. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate a wide range of teaching experience, especially with SEN students. The successful applicants will be passionate and resourceful practitioners who are highly motivated and enthusiastic and who can relate to students who may have struggled within mainstream settings.

You will be expected to focus on students’ strengths and developing their academic skills and self-confidence. Reporting directly to the Headteacher, you will work closely in ensuring each student has the best access to opportunities and progression later in life.

Information about the school

Cross Keys Learning is a small independent school with the capacity for seventy students (aged from 11 to 17), where excellent attainment and progress for students is consistently maintained. We are situated in both Broadstairs and Womenswold, We take great pride in creating a warm and friendly environment and a positive culture for learning so that our students are given opportunities to excel. We place great emphasis on the social and emotional development of our students, alongside the encouragement of a love for learning so they can achieve their full potential academically. High emphasis is placed on student and staff well-being to make Cross Keys Learning a great place to be.

We are an established and well respected provision offering education to students aged 11-17. Our provision is designed to offer learning within small groups (5-8 per group) and we offer a broad and balanced alternative curriculum with a choice of pathways for KS4 students. Although we can support students with a wide range of needs, our curriculum and provision are designed to support students with ASD/ social and communication difficulties, students unable to manage a mainstream environment due to high levels of school-based anxiety or school refusal, students that require an alternative curriculum/ pathway as their cognitive ability or school experiences have resulted in them being significantly behind ARE (age related expectations), students that may have low self-esteem and confidence.

Our mission is to work together continuing to make our school a safe and secure environment where we are aware of our own and each other’s well-being, and have a pride in our community and our learning, so we can all reach our potential.
