We are seeking to appoint a Medical, Welfare and SEN assistant to join our wonderful team and to provide additional support across our school. There are multiple elements to this role, which includes the medical care or our pupils in addition to managing the schools medical resources, whilst also leading on lunchtime supervision and First Aid. This is a part-time position, for 4 hours a day (between 10:30am and 2:30pm), five days a week in term time. Professional development is a key part of our school ethos and any successfull applicant would be trained appropriately and supported by the school.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with children and delivering interventions, or is willing to train.
  • Has a strong belief in inclusion, diversity and the right of each child to be successful whatever their needs, abilities and background.
  • Is able to work well as a team member whilst using their initiative and working independently when required.
  • Is flexible, hardworking and highly reliable with excellent communication skills.
  • Is determined to provide the very best outcomes for the children they work with.
  • Uses their good sense of humour to maintain positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
  • Have a good understanding of numeracy, literacy and ICT.
  • Preferably have GCSE English and Maths grade C or equivalent. 
  • Preferably have a Teaching Assistant Qualification (NVQ level 2 as a minimum), or equivalent.

Further Advantage would be:

  • Experience of working in a medical environment or responsible for medical care of others. 
  • Experience in working with pupils with SEN
  • Proven administration experience
