Chilmington Green Primary School have a vacancy for a part time Parent Support Advisor (3 days per week - Mon, Weds, Fri)

The Parent Suport Advisor is an integral role in our school and as a ‘front of house role’, will work as part of the front office and in collaboration with other staff members. The PSA forms an integral part of the school team, one in which you can make a real difference to the lives of our children and families. We are looking for someone flexible, with a 'can-do' attitude and a willingness to 'pitch-in', going above and beyond when necessary to support both our children and families as well as colleagues. 

The successful candidate will require relevant experience of working with families, including parents, pupils, professionals and agencies. It would be desirable to have knowledge of inter-agency provisions to support schools and families. The candidate should be able to work in a collaborative way, with the Head teacher and and other school staff, to manage the diverse needs of pupils and families.

We are looking for a candidate who has exceptional inter-personal skills, communications skills and an understanding of the needs or children and young people. We need someone diligent, organised and efficient as it is essential that an effective record keeping system is maintained and accurate records are kept. Training will be provided to support where required. The successful candidate will also be open to supporting the wider Ashford hub.

The role is:

  • 22.5 hours per week across 3 days
  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please note these days may be subject to change in the future based on the needs of the school.
  • Term time only working, plus 5 staff development days across the year.
  • Pro-rata KR5 salary - approximately £10,819.77 per year (gross)

Information about the school

Location: Ashford, Kent UK Chilmington Green Primary School is a growing primary school on the new Chilmington Green development in Ashford. Opening in 2018 in a temporary building before moving into a state-of-the-art building in 2021. Pupil numbers are growing rapidly currently standing at 230 pupils. We would encourage any applicant to visit the school for a tour. It is operating as a one form entry school for children of primary age (4–11-year-olds), with the exception of Reception and year 1, which allows two forms of entry, allowing for 60 Year R pupils to join the school each year. The newly opened school nursery now inhabits a dedicated space for up to 26 nursery aged children (2, 3 and 4-year-olds) per session and also includes a Specialist Resource Provision for up to 14 pupils who have an Education Health Care Plan for Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
