We are looking for a diligent professional with excellent people skills who will work in partnership with our families and outside agencies.

The role involves leading our well- established team of designated safeguarding leaders and playing an instrumental role in leading school staff to ensure effective safeguarding of our pupils and supporting families

You should have extensive recent experience of safeguarding in either a school or social care role. Experience of working with people with a learning difficulty or disability would be an advantage but not essential.  

The successful candidate will be strategic and operational lead for safeguarding and family support, including being the school’s Lead DSL.

Our Head of Safeguarding and Student Welfare will build strong relationships with professionals, parents, carers, pupils and other key stakeholders in the Wyvern community.

Term Time Only plus 15 additional days during school holidays

Working pattern: 8.30- 4.30 daily

Start date: as soon as possible

The Wyvern School is a large, dynamic, forward-looking school, with the aim of helping to shape best practice for pupils with complex needs. The school caters for 350 pupils with severe, profound and complex needs including autism.
