From October 2022 we are looking for a Family Liaison Officer to join our staff team. This would be a new position to our school, but one that in partnership with existing colleagues can help to strengthen and widen the offer of family support at Ditton Juniors. 

We are looking for someone who can provide active support for our families both inside and out of school, using a wide range of skills and contacts to increase engagement with the school and improve the learning outcomes forpupils.

Working hours can be negoiated for the right candidate, however we are looking for a daily in school presence, ideally, 8:30- 12:30 every day (20hours a week). Initially this post would be for a fixed term before looking to make the position permanent. 

Experience of working with children and families would be essential.

Other duties would include:

  • organising a wide variety of activities for children and their families
  • liaising with staff members regarding children and their families where necessary
  • encouraging good home / school communication
  • supporting parents to attend meetings and appointments
  • child protection
  • attend relevant training and development as identified by the school and through appraisal

Ability to be confidential is essential.
