Information about the school

St John’s is a successful co-ed Catholic school with over 1300 pupils including over 300 in the Sixth Form. We have a very strong Catholic ethos and pride ourselves in being a warm and welcoming community, something that was externally recognised in our recent Section 48 Inspection of January 2020, where we achieved ‘Outstanding Catholic School’ status. The school’s 2019 Progress 8 score of +0.40 was the fourth consecutive year the school achieved a positive score on this key performance measure, placing the school in the top 20% of all schools nationally, a wonderful reflection of the talented and dedicated students and staff we have at the school. Pupil achievements in 2020 and 2021, via the respective Centre Assessed and Teacher Assessed Grade processes, were equally impressive and, whilst official outcome figures for this year have yet to be published, our students performed exceptionally well once again in their summer examinations..

This is an excellent and exciting time to join the school and be part of an enthusiastic, forward thinking and supportive team.
