Due to staff promotion, the school is looking to appoint a teacher of Design Technology.

Do you actively contribute to student’s inspiration and creativity, through the use of materials? We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Design Technology with experience of resistant materials, who will help our students become resourceful and innovative.

The role and what we are looking for:

Can you guide our young design enthusiasts through the practical and theoretical elements of our curriculum? In one of our most popular subjects here at The Royal Harbour Academy, we are preparing our students for the job titles that don’t even exist yet. We are looking for someone who is fully on-board with the academy vision and ready to take on ownership of establishing and maintaining great practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Technology Teacher looking to grow their career in a CPD rich environment.

To arrange a school visit or for more information, please contact Mrs Pollard, email address lee@rha.kent.sch.uk or call the school office on 01843 572500

Candidates should apply as soon as possible as applications will be dealt with as they arrive.

Information about the school

The Royal Harbour Academy is proud to be part of the Coastal Academies Trust (https://www.coastalacademiestrust.co.uk/) a local multi-academy trust of three other secondary schools and a large primary school. The Royal Harbour Academy has two large sites located on the Kent coast, with a sunny climate and affordable housing, yet only 50 minutes by train from central London. We are a mixed, non-selective 11-18 foundation school of more than 900 students.

The school is arranged over the split site with Years 7 and 8 on our Newlands Lane premises and Year 9 along with Key Stages 4 and 5 at our Marlowe Way premises.

We are an International Baccalaureate Organisation World School and run International Baccalaureate programmes for our 6th Form and Key Stage 3 students. Our Lower Site broadly follows a primary school structure with students having fewer teachers and a strong focus on literacy and numeracy progression.

The school is making tremendous progress and it is an exciting time to join our team. Our most recent Ofsted inspection gave glowing praise about the school, judging behaviour, personal development and the 6th Form as good.
