This is a great opportunity for someone to join our team.   We are looking for someone with a positive growth mind set and who wants to be a key part in a school, ensuring the children and staff are supported directly or indirectly.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a candidate with previous finance and administration experience. Barming Primary School is looking for a skilled, caring and enthusiastic person to join our family as an Office Manager who has the ability to lead on the day to day business management of the school.

We are seeking to appoint a friendly, flexible, professional person to work in our school office.  The working hours will be 8:00am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (+ 5 inset days and 5 additional days over the year (to be agreed)) to work alongside our Administrative Assistant. 

You will need to be able to work well under pressure and use your own initiative, be well organised and have the ability to prioritise your own workload and work to deadlines.  You will be required to work both independently and as part of a team, whilst maintaining a positive attitude. As part of this role, it is also essential to maintain confidentiality at all times. 

You will need to be able to deal with a variety of people in a sensitive and diplomatic manner. You will be required to undertake Safeguarding and First Aid training.

This is a key role within the school and the ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of working in a school or office environment
  • Knowledge of the PSF, ParentMail and Scholar Pack systems
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop good relationships with pupils, parents, staff and visitors
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to use own initiative
  • A confident and professional manner
  • A good eye for detail
  • An excellent knowledge of IT systems such as Outlook, Word and Excel

Barming Primary School is a member of the Orchard Academy Trust family of schools and is made up of Allington Primary School, Belmont Pre-School and Barming Primary School. Belmont Pre-School is part of Barming Primary School meaning we cater for 2 - 11 year olds. It is a well-equipped two-form entry primary school serving the village of Barming (and surrounding areas) on the edge of Maidstone. We have approximately 420 children in purpose built accommodation, including shared resource and work areas, library and computer suite. Our school has a large site which provides admirably for our social and academic work.
