OVERVIEW OF THE SCHOOL AND THE ROLE

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ideally, experience of working in a school environment
  • Experience of being in a similar role
  • Good communication skills
  • Time management

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE:

  • Demonstrate previous experience and ‘DIY skills’ to identify, monitor and carry out minor repairs, maintenance and redecoration.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of moving and handling procedures and be physically able to carry out the physical tasks of the role (e.g. lifting, shifting, clearing snow etc).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Health & Safety and hygiene procedures and precautions.
  • Awareness of COSHH regulations, applying knowledge gained as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills that allow effective communication with all levels of school staff, governors, pupils, contractors and outside users of the school (hirers).

This is a full time, whole year post with flexible working required - currently this is an alternating two week shift pattern: 5.40am - 2pm and 10.10am - 6.30pm. (However the pattern may be negotiable). There are 5 additional hours during term time.

Overtime will be required on occasion to cover for Academy functions and events and there may be a need to attend emergency call-outs if required.

Salary: WAT Grade E, pts 10 - 14 £21,695 - £23,484, plus additional amount of between £2,510 - £2,717 per annum.
