Information about the school

Priory Infant School, Ramsgate in Kent

Information about Priory Infant School “A small school with a big heart”

Priory Infant School is a two form entry school in the heart of the seaside town of Ramsgate. The school was built 25 years ago and has 6 spacious classrooms and an extension which includes a community room, FLO office and 2 rooms used for group work for children with SALT and SEND needs. The school is investing in redeveloping the outdoor play areas and has a dedicated wildlife area with a pond and vegetable plot. We are currently undertaking the Nurture Schools Programme UK and fully believe in the ethos of a nurturing environment in order to support the needs of all our children. Priory Infant School works very well with parents and carers and this is central to our school ethos. We have a dedicated team of staff who provide a caring, supportive environment where our children are encouraged to be independent, resilient, creative and adventurous in their learning and aspirational in their lives. We are determined to ensure our children receive a broad, exciting curriculum where success is celebrated and nurtured with experiences offered above and beyond. We aim to ensure our children are happy, enthusiastic and receive the very best start to school life. The school serves a mixed catchment area resulting in a wide ranging, diverse cohort. Approximately 23% of our children receive SEND support in some form during their time with us and approximately 30% of our children are eligible for Pupil Premium funding.
Our school was judged to be good in all areas at our last Ofsted in February 2018 and we are now working towards developing consistently outstanding practice ready for our next inspection under the new inspection framework. As the new Head teacher I am excited for the future of Priory Infant School. If you are willing to take on new challenges and are undeterred by hard work we would be delighted to have you join our fantastic team. The friendly atmosphere at Priory is palpable and we positively encourage you to come and experience this for yourself!
