Advert

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking teaching assistant to join our happy, thriving school. We currently have a part time vacancy that may involve working with both KS1 and KS2 pupils.

The successful candidate should have GCSEs in both English and Maths, a good knowledge of child development and a general understanding of the National Curriculum. They would also need to be flexible and enthusiastic with a positive attitude and work well as a team member.

We can offer you a school with a great ethos and family feel, a fantastic environment in which to work (we are situated in the beautiful Elham Valley), a wonderfully friendly, professional group of colleagues who always go the extra mile for their pupils, regular CPD opportunities and good resources. You will be working with a group of very supportive colleagues who work brilliantly together as a team and are passionate and enthusiastic. Our last Ofsted Inspection was in January 2023. We were judged to be ‘good’ with outstanding in three categories.

Information about the school

We are a one-form entry, rural school, yet only a ten-minute drive from Canterbury. Our Church of England school is situated in beautiful landscaped grounds within the Elham Valley and it has its own large playing field and garden areas. The original school was built in the Victorian period and is now a listed building.

Our school is extremely well resourced with a large hall, an ICT suite and Art room. We are proud to have our own swimming pool which is in regular use and means our children benefit from exciting sport events such as triathlons.

Barham is an active, dynamic school which offers its pupils an engaging curriculum and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. We pride ourselves on having a great staff team, well-behaved children and supportive parents and governors.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please call the school office on 01227 831312 to arrange a tour.
