Assistant Headteacher – SENDCo

(L10-14)

We have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to evolve their leadership skills and qualities with a view to strategically leading the SEN department in liaison with the Deputy Headteacher developing the quality of education across the school.  

You will be part of a successful and experienced Senior Leadership Team with your main focus being to ensure all students with special or additional needs receive their full educational entitlement and access to the whole curriculum, supporting teachers to provide quality first education through strategic and operational leadership. This role would suit someone with a solution focussed mindset and can work consistently well at a senior level. The successful candidates would need to have a drive and passion to develop their curriculum areas with a clear focus on the three I’s.

 

We are looking for candidates who

  • have experience of working effectively at a senior level
  • have experience as a SENDCo or significant involvement and impact on leading a successful SEND department
  • Have experience of teaching students with ASC diagnosis
  • Have the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to lead our Specialist Resource Provision
  • have excellent subject knowledge and a proficient understanding of pedagogy;
  • are able to as a role model for quality first teaching for all students.
  • have obtained at least a high-quality degree and a relevant teaching qualification;
  • have high expectations and aspirations for all students;
  • are committed to our vision to ensure student well-being and good progress is at the heart of everything we do.
