At Aspire school we believe that learning needs to be individual for all and aspirational for everyone.

As a specialist provision for children with ASD and speech, language and communication needs we believe that communication is at the heart of the curriculum for all of our pupils. We are therefore looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist, who is looking for the next challenge in their career, and wishes to be a driving force behind helping our pupils to be the best communicators they can be.

We are offering a rare opportunity to join our new, purpose-built environment, designed for our unique children.  Successful candidates will have the opportunity to join a growing team, and use your knowledge and ideas to help shape the support we offer to all of the Aspire School community.  There will also be the opportunity of working with and providing support to pupils and staff in mainstream schools within the Academy Trust.

If you are experienced, enthusiastic and forward-thinking and have the passion to bring out and nurture the individual talents in our pupils, aged 4 -11 with ASD and speech and language needs, please complete an application form.

You will be our desirable candidate if:

  • You are an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with a minimum of 2 years’ experience;
  • You have experience of delivering training in a range of approaches relating to ASD and speech and language needs;
  • You have experience of working in mainstream and/or specialist schools;
  • You thrive working in a friendly team with like-minded people;
  • You have a positive sense of humour and attitude;
  • You are a clear communicator with adults and children;
  • You are a positive role model to all.

In return, we can offer you:

  • A unique and exciting role;
  • A friendly and supportive team;
  • A healthy work-life balance;
  • An inclusive environment where you feel valued;
  • A generous annual leave allowance;
  • Ongoing CPD opportunities and support to embed new skills
  • A supportive leadership team

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend a formal interview and complete a range of tasks that are relevant to the role.

Aspire School is committed to the safeguarding of all its pupils, you will therefore be subject to an enhanced disclosure process. As part of our responsibility for safeguarding, in addition to the Kent policy of one employment and one personal reference, the school may request additional employment references.
