Advert

High Firs is a popular, friendly and successful one-form entry primary school where our super pupils are happily engaged in learning.

We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking, caring and devoted teacher, with a proven history of excellent teaching, either in placement or in post, to join our teaching team. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our dedicated and supportive staff with our well-behaved, friendly and hardworking children to raise standards and promote a safe, happy and stimulating learning environment.  We pride ourselves that our school is a happy and safe place in which to learn – could you be the right person to join our team?

High Firs is committed to supporting the professional development of our staff and full appraisal and induction processes are already in place. The post is suitable for applications from both ECTs and more experienced teachers. No year group has yet been confirmed for the post as we are keen to maximise on the strengths and skills of our new staff member, alongside those of our current staff. The post is therefore being advertised as for a KS1 or KS2 teacher.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children.  All applicants will be asked to provide two referees and be subject to safeguarding checks, including full DBS check.

Visits to our school are welcomed and we would be very happy to show you around and to talk about our school’s ongoing development all day long!  We look forward to meeting you.

Information about the school

High Firs Primary School is a popular one-form entry Community Primary School for boys and girls aged between 4+ and 11 years (number on role: 210). The school is set in an attractive estate off Goldsel Road in Swanley. The school is easily reached from the main road by a series of paths between the houses and linking roads for ease of access.

The school is set in pleasant surroundings with shrubs and trees. The children have a playground, with opportunities for both games and quieter activities, and an adjoining playing field which they use for both playtime and PE. Our grounds have recently been enhanced by the development of a woodland area into an exciting outdoor learning area.

In addition to woodland adventures, our children are now benefitting from Tilly, our school dog and lessons for younger children in bike riding as well as swimming. We pride ourselves in our provision that is designed to cater for a wide range of different learning styles and character types, such that our school genuinely feels like one big, happy family.

High Firs is supported by both our Governing Body and the Friends of High Firs Primary School Association. Pupils are well supported by parents, and we are very proud of the standards of behaviour set at the school.
