Information about the school

Fordcombe Church of England Primary School is a half-form entry village school set in the beautiful Kent countryside near Tunbridge Wells, where our Christian vision, "inspiring every child to shine in God's light", shapes everything we do.

A collaborative team culture: Our recent SIAMS inspection described us as "a small, welcoming school full of joy where people flourish," where relationships between staff and pupils are exceptionally strong. We are a close-knit team that values each member's wellbeing and professional growth equally. Staff describe working here as being part of a supportive family where everyone is genuinely known and valued.

Your career development matters: As part of the Tenax Schools Trust, you'll benefit from a comprehensive professional development programme that goes far beyond what a standalone small school could offer.

Facilities and resources: Our Victorian building houses a characterful school hall, while purpose-built classrooms and a dedicated library space support our commitment to reading for pleasure. We work diligently to meet every learner's needs with creative approaches that ensure all children have opportunities to discover and develop their talents.

Teaching the whole child: Academic excellence matters deeply here. We share high expectations with staff, parents, and pupils, working collaboratively to ensure every child achieves well. But we're equally committed to something broader: helping children discover their identity, explore their aspirations, and develop the values that will guide their lives. As a staff member at Fordcombe, you'll be supporting both academic progress and the personal growth that shapes confident, capable young people ready for their next steps.

What we are looking for: Adults who thrive in collaborative environments, value evidence-informed practice, and believe that primary education is about more than attainment; it is where children discover who they are, explore who they want to become, and begin to understand how they want to live their lives.

If this sounds like the right environment for your next career step, we would love to hear from you.
