Family Liaison/SENCO Support Assistant

An exciting opportunity has risen at our school. We are seeking to appoint a Family Liaison/SENCO Assistant to join our dedicated and passionate team. This an exciting opportunity for someone who is dedicated to ensuring the best outcomes for all children and is committed to safeguarding and the  wellbeing of children and families. The role will involve working alongside the Headteacher and SENCo to provide holistic support for children and families inside and outside of school, as well as promoting parental engagement with the school community.

The role will include

  • Working with children and families to support good school attendance
  • Leading SEN Interventions
  • Supporting the SENCO with pastoral and SEN issues
  • Working with and alongside outside agencies
  • In school inclusion and behaviour support
  • MDSA link and support
  • Working alongside the lead DSL to support and promote safeguarding across the school
  • Supporting and promoting Parental engagement

 

We are looking for a colleague who has:

  •  Excellent interpersonal, communication and planning skills
  • Excellent ability to work as part of a team
  • Experiences of using problem solving techniques and approaches when working with families
  • Proven abilities to deal with difficult/sensitive situations
  • Ability to demonstrate a child centred approach

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, be approachable, patient, compassionate and understanding, flexible in their approach and have a good sense of humour.

Salary range: KR6 depending on experience.  Please note that the salary will be pro-rated in line with working term time plus inset days only. The successful applicant will be contracted to work 31.25 hours per week, term time only (including 5 inset days). 8.40am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
