Do you have experience of providing care to children (or adults) with Special Educational Needs - especially personal or medical care? Do you share our passion and determination to unlock the potential in every child? We are seeking Teaching Assistants to join our aspirational, joyful school community, starting in our IMPACT curriculum classes.

At Meadowfield we work hard to ensure that all of our pupils make excellent progress, and we continually seek to improve the wellbeing of both pupils and staff. Now is an exciting time to join our outstanding school as we expand to better meet the demand for special school places in Swale. We are incredibly proud of our latest Ofsted inspection (see the report on our profile page). Ofsted recognise that relationships between our staff and pupils are exceptionally positive, and we are delighted that our pupils told inspectors they are very happy at the school and really enjoy their lessons.

We encourage all of our employees to further their career development and we respect initiative and ambition. We are committed to staff development, coaching, mentoring and peer support.

We need Teaching Assistants to work as part of a team of adults in each class. Some experience of working with pupils with special educational needs would be an advantage, though not essential, as training will be given.

From all staff we expect commitment to the school and a desire to improve and excel. Further information about the responsibilities of the role, and the criteria we will use to select candidates, can be found in the attached job description and person specification.

While this vacancy is in our IMPACT department, there will be opportunities to move across the school age range.  Our TAs are expected to work flexibly across the school when needed.

Working Hours for TAs are 9:00 to 3:30 (30 hours), 39 weeks per year.

The full time salary is £18,039, which is £12,580 when prorated for part time hours and weeks per year.

The post also attracts £1,296 Special Needs Allowance (£1,196 when prorated).

Meadowfield School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils. This post is subject to references, a medical check and an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Please apply online for any of these vacancies via www.kent-teach.com, by clicking the 'Apply' button at the top or the bottom of the page. C.V.s will not be considered.

Please contact the HR Team on 01795 477788, option three or HR@meadowfield.kent.sch.uk for more information.

Due to the conditions and complex needs of the pupils at Meadowfield School, continuity and consistency of support is paramount and therefore candidates for all positions will need to commit to the full working hours of the post.

Due to the potential for conflicts of interest, close family members of current pupils will not be interviewed for this post.
