Are you passionate, energetic, positive, inspirational and looking for a new challenge?

Wilmington Primary School is a one form entry school with 210 children, which is in the heart of the village. Children, staff, parents, governors and volunteers agree that our strength is our community spirit, which creates a caring, supportive and happy environment. Quoted in our current Ofsted report, a teacher commented ‘The teaching staff and support staff all work as a team.  This is why we are a happy school with happy children.  A team I am proud to be part of’. We have very high achieving children and we aim to inspire all, staff, governors and children, to reach their full potential.

The new headteacher has been in post for 18 months, and following the retirement of the current deputy head we are looking to welcome a new inspirational, approachable, creative and ambitious leader to our team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, fun and highly supportive group of dedicated people to further develop your career. The successful applicant will be class based in Upper Key Stage 2 for the majority of the week. They will also have management release time to enable them to lead a core subject and also support the headteacher in her quest to provide the best education for children that we can. We are keen to appoint a deputy head who will help advance our vision and continue to inspire and motivate the whole school community. This is an opportunity for an outstanding teacher and middle leader, wishing to broaden their experience or an experienced leader, who has a proven track record of making a significant and positive impact in their current posts. If you are passionate about making a positive difference to the children of our school, then we want to meet you.

We are lucky to have very supportive parents and confident, well-behaved and delightful children to teach. Our motto is ‘sharing and caring as we learn together’.  We aim to provide education in a caring and interesting environment, that will motivate all children to maximise their learning opportunities.

We can offer you a great opportunity to develop your teaching career with us and look forward to welcoming you to the school. We would encourage all applicants to come and visit the school so we can show you how special we are and to answer any questions you may have. To arrange a visit, please contact either Helen Flowers or Joanne Reynolds on 01322 274080.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful applicant will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the DBS.
