Advert

Godinton is a thriving, 2 form entry school, with a very settled staff. However, due to a retirement, we have a vacancy for a full time teacher. You will be working alongside experienced colleagues and consequently this post would particularly suit an NQT.

Godinton is not organised in key stages. We have mini schools and the vacancy will be in either the middle or upper school. Consequently, we would welcome applicants who wish to teach from year 2 upwards. The vacancy is most likely to be for Year 5.

We want someone who isn't only an excellent practitioner, but who will also bring yet more drive and excitement to our school. We greatly value the importance of sports, languages and the arts in primary education. Our staff are organised into curriculum teams and we want someone to join our arts team, with particular expertise in the arts, or PE. On completion of your induction year, we would want to see you take a lead in developing your subject area within the school.

In turn, we can offer you a well resourced environment, in a school with beautiful grounds and friendly children. We will support you and do all that we can to develop your career during your time with us. Four NQTs have joined us in the past two years, and consequently we have experience in supporting NQTs through their induction year.

We encourage you to visit us and see what we have to offer. Please contact the office to arrange a tour with the Headteacher Mr Jim Holditch

Information about the school

Welcome to Godinton Primary School.

When you step inside our school, you will find an exciting environment of creativity and discovery, where children’s natural curiosity is stimulated and their capacity to learn is nurtured. We are very proud of our ethos, which provides a supportive, family atmosphere with an emphasis on ensuring that our children are happy and confident individuals who love coming to school.

At Godinton Primary School, our team works hard to provide every child with a well-rounded education, enabling them to reach their full potential and succeed wherever their strengths and skills may lie. We strive for academic excellence in our pupils but believe that this should be delivered alongside an enriching and creative curriculum.

We enjoy stand-alone Academy status and have been graded as GOOD by Ofsted at our last inspection (Feb 2024).

Tucked safely away on the Godinton Park Estate, its only when you step within the school gate that you can fully appreciate the school’s privileged outside space.

Our school grounds are both extensive and beautiful, stretching around the entire building and providing a wonderful natural backdrop. Children at Godinton benefit from vast playing fields, adventure play areas, two playgrounds and a thriving wildlife garden and environmental area. A broad area of woodland, also within the grounds, provides an inspiring space for curriculum enrichment, as a stimulus for poetry or creative writing or as the location for scientific nature trails.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school, where you can see for yourself what a special place Godinton Primary School is.

Miss Jill Talbot

Headteacher
