Stocks Green Primary School is a popular school which opened 51 years ago in 1969 in response to local needs for a new school. We are responsible for the education of children aged 4 – 11 years old, the majority of whom live in the village of Hildenborough. Our capacity is 218 children on roll, in classes of 30 in Key Stage 1 and 32 in Key stage 2. Although our school is non-denominational – we actively foster links with the local community, including the local church.

Our pupils are, enthusiastic, articulate and hard working.  Their needs are well met by our experienced staff who are always looking for ways to improve their practice.  The staff’s fully inclusive approach makes Stocks Green Primary School a welcoming and stimulating environment where every child can aspire to be the best that they can be. We aim for children to develop a lifelong love of learning and thrive in a nurturing environment, centred on independence and self-motivation. You can read our School Visions and Values here.

Our accommodation consists of seven spacious classrooms, a hall for assemblies, PE and school meals. We have a fully equipped care suite for the disabled, with a shower facility and hoist. Two of our Key Stage 2 classrooms have been extended to enable easier accessibility for pupils with specific needs. The Foundation Stage classroom has a covered outside learning area. There is a large music room/library, and extensive grounds, including a Forest School area, pond/wildlife area, an allotment, stage, designated quiet areas and adventure playground equipment.

Continual investment in IT resources has been made possible with the support of our active and enthusiastic PTA. The school has been able to resource and provide up to date technology with capacity to serve future needs.  This has proved invaluable. During lockdowns, the School has had the ability to support learning at home with daily offerings of structured lessons on Zoom and a range of activities and resources.

Sport and exercise are an important part of our school ethos and our grounds provide a range of facilities including an all year running track, football/rugby pitch, cricket in the summer, athletics track, rounders pitch, outdoor table tennis, netball and basketball courts. We also use portable tennis nets in the summer. We are very fortunate to have lovely grounds with well-established trees and plants which allow us to study nature and wildlife all year round.

Following their time with us, pupils go on to a wide range of secondary schools in, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells, including Grammar Schools, Church Schools, All Inclusive Schools and private education.

At Stocks Green we believe that life is not a dress rehearsal, we aim to not only maintain but raise standards of education, with creative, happy pupils and motivated, dedicated staff.  We offer a rewarding position and the opportunity for a successful applicant to inspire and lead the way forward on the next stage of our journey.
