Northfleet is a town in the Gravesham Borough of Kent and borders the Dartford Borough. It is located north west of Gravesend. The up and coming town is situated in an area of extensive development which will form a 21st century Garden City in North Kent which will deliver up to 15,000 new homes.

The area is full of historic and cultural connections and compared to most other parts of Kent, Gravesend has a young multicultural population.

The town centre shops and amenities reflect this diversity. Northfleet has a large supermarket and a high street with a bank, chemist, dentist, doctor’s surgery and shops.

There are a wide range of leisure facilities within the area including sports centres, libraries, open spaces including country parks and walking routes. Northfleet is also less than 10 minutes from Bluewater shopping centre.

Road links are strong; the town is directly accessed by car from the A2 with the M25, M20 and M26 within a short drive. There are excellent rail links too in the area to both Northfleet mainline station and Ebbsfleet International Station. Ebbsfleet station is also served by a high speed train service into London which takes 22minutes and there is also easy access out to the coast (Ashford, Margate) and into Paris.

The river is widely used for commercial transportation including freight and cruise ships and there is also a foot passenger ferry between Gravesend and Tilbury.
