Northfleet Nursery School is a stand-alone Maintained Nursery School located in NW Kent, funded by Kent County Council, with a nominal roll 116 of rising 2 to 5 year olds from a very diverse local community.
The school prides itself in maintaining an environment where children feel valued, happy, healthy and safe, where they are encouraged to take responsibility and enjoy their learning, leading to high achievement within a diverse community
The nursery uses the High/Scope Approach within the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, which actively involves the children in exploring and learning about things that are important to children in the early years. This approach creates a culture where children can invent create imagine and develop skills for the future.
The School is very much multicultural, surrounded by a wonderfully rich community and our children come with wide cultural experiences and backgrounds. Our whole community - Governors, parents, carers, and neighbourhood - all play an important part within our school.
The success of the School and its methodology and the dedication of teachers and support staff is reflected in its recognition as a Centre of Excellence for HighScope and the classification of the School as being Outstanding in 4 consecutive Ofsted inspections.
