Thamesview School is situated in Gravesend in Northwest Kent. Due to its geographical location, Gravesend has played an important role throughout the maritime and communications history of the South East. Evidence of settlements in the area date as far back as the Stone Age and the town is referenced throughout history, most notably as the final resting place of Pocahontas. 

Its close proximity to the River Thames and London means that this is an ideal town for commuters, being just 24 minutes from the city. The excellent transport links make it easy to get around the borough which boasts riverside, countryside, a busy town and quieter villages. 

Bluewater Shopping Centre is close by providing retail therapy, a large cinema complex and many restaurants and cafes. Glow events venue, which can be found at Bluewater, runs a programme of seasonal events throughout the year. If you prefer more leisurely pursuits, there is plenty of countryside for you to explore or you can get your heart rate going at Cascades Leisure Centre.
