About The School

Thistle Hill Academy opened in September 2015 and moved to its state of the art building in the new Thistle Hill housing development in Minster on Sea, Sheerness in January 2016. Since then, the number of students on roll has grown significantly, with the Academy currently consisting of two reception classes, two year one classes and one class for each year group 3-6. With a growing community, the Academy is expected to take on two reception classes every September until it reaches its full capacity of 420 pupils. A consultation is currently underway on the prospect of Nursery provision being provided by the Academy.

In January 2017, Thistle Hill Academy became part of The Stour Academy Trust, a highly successful primary only multi-academy trust. Working in a collaborative model, Thistle Hill has become part of the Swale Hub of the Trust, joining Richmond Academy in Sheerness and Lansdowne Primary School in Sittingbourne. All Academies in the Trust share the same core values and ethos; raise standards and address underperformance whilst making sure that the children are at the heart of every decision. Through the effective use of Hubs, the Trust’s aim and ambition is to create a network of outstanding schools that thrive through collaboration and interaction.
