Eastling Primary School

Local Area

Eastling is a picturesque village which lies between the M2 and the M20 on the slope of the North Downs,  4.5 miles to the south west of Faversham,13 miles from Canterbury. The village has an excellent community centred around the Church of St Mary's, Eastling Primary School, the Village Hall and the Carpenter's Arms public house.

It is surrounded by agricultural land and a wide network of footpaths and bridleways which lead through the surrounding bluebell woodlands and countryside: the annual Bluebell Walk attracts visitors from far and wide.  The school is able to use the Village Hall car park and some overflow can be accommodated in the church car park opposite. Many pupils from Eastling School move to secondary schools in Faversham: Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (judged outstanding by Ofsted in 2015) and The Abbey School (judged as Good 2013) though a few choose to move on to schools in Sittingbourne and Canterbury.

There are approximately 380 residents in the village.  The housing is extremely varied: from the local Manor House, extensive farm houses and farm cottages to social housing built within the last 20 years: indeed, a walk around the village provides a history lesson in itself. There have been several new families with young children who have recently moved into the village keen to leave the stresses of city life.  Residents value their community and surroundings and are proud to live in such a beautiful place.
