Local Area

Dunton Green is based on the northern outskirts of the town of Sevenoaks in Kent, but is a community in its own right. Sevenoaks is a large, historical town around 20 miles from London with  excellent transport links to the capital city and beautiful countryside. 

Dunton Green Primary School is a 6 minute walk from Dunton Green train station providing 2 services an hour and 3 during peak times to London Charing Cross. There is also another train station close by in Sevenoaks with regular services to London meaning the bright lights of the capital are never far away. From Dunton Green the M25 and M20 are easily accessible giving drivers easy access to the rest of Kent, London and beyond. 

The village has lots of local amenities including a well-loved pub, The Dukes Head, several supermarkets and local coffee houses. The school plays a big part in the local community with the children visiting the local church at Christmas and the school holds the annual summer fete each year.  Dunton Green has a large play and sports grounds for children and is close to many foot paths that lead to local countryside making it a great place to live and work. 

Sevenoaks is located in the picturesque landscape of The North Downs and near to the High Wealds which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are plenty of idyllic gardens to explore in the town such as Riverhill Himalayan Gardens and Great Comp Garden. Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve is also located a short distance from the Primary School, the reserve is a haven for wildlife and perfect for days out and school trips. 

The Sevenoaks area is home to some iconic historical landmarks including Knole Park, Ightham Mote, Lullingstone Castle and Hever Castle.  There are also more modern attractions in the town such as the Leisure Centre with its swimming pool and the Stag Community Arts Centre which dates back to the 1930’s, the building recently reopened with a theatre, two cinema screens and an alternative performance space.
