Local Area
Yalding CofE Primary School is located in the rural village of Yalding, a village between Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone. Yalding is a thriving community and is a great place to live and for children to grow up in.
Indeed Edmund Blunden wrote, ‘I could wish that every child had had such a place to grow up in’.
The village has good transport links with two bus routes and a railway station serving London and the South Coast. It is only 40 minutes drive to Ebbsfleet or Ashford, from where you can reach Paris in less than 2 hours.
Yalding has a library, shop, café, post office, restaurant, two pubs and a beautiful church. It hosts a Farmer’s Market once a month and a Yuletide Market at Christmas. There are lots of clubs and classes, almost too many to mention. They include: a thriving Scout Group – from Beavers to Explorers, table tennis classes for children, Pilates, Yoga, Dance Classes, Art Groups, Reading groups, Drama groups (with at least one outdoor annual play).
There is a playground, Cricket Ground and a variety of beautiful walks along the Greensands Way and along the River Beult and Medway. Yalding is a stunning place to live or work.
