Yalding St Peter & St Paul CE Primary School

About the School

Our school is at the heart of Yalding village surrounded by wonderful countryside and close to the village church of St Peter & St Paul. We have a PAN of 24 and we have mixed age classes at the top end of the school with year 5 being split between our year 4 and year 6 classes.

We desperately want to provide better accommodation at the school and have recently set up a fundraising committee to build a new school hall. This has the full support of the existing Headteacher and the Governors and the first outline designs from a local architect are available to view. We hope one day to be a single form entry school and are actively working with the Diocese and Local Authority to achieve this.

We are forward thinking and always looking at ways to improve – whether that’s in teaching and learning or leadership and governance.

Recently, the village came together to develop a local ‘community plan’. Both Governors and children had the opportunity to present what they wanted for the future for both the village and the school.

Here is what they presented:

The children developed and presented the above presentation independently. We have had many favourable comments and emails about how well the children did and how articulately they made their views known. The school will now feature heavily in the local development plan.

Here is what the children say they like about their school:
