Local Area
Brabourne school is set in idyllic countryside at the foot of the North Downs AONB. Midway between Brabourne Lees, East
Brabourne and West Brabourne, it has few direct neighbours but is still an integral part of the community. These villages, along with adjacent Smeeth, have four pubs, a shop, hairdressers, two garages and lots of
well supported clubs based in the village hall and scout hut.
Within easy reach are the bigger towns of Ashford (6 miles), Folkestone (7 miles) and Canterbury (9 miles), all of which have plenty of attractions,
services and diverse shopping. Ashford sits on the fast rail link between London and Paris so it’s possible to be in London in just over half an hour and France is not much further.
The coast is also close by with diverse coastal scenery from sandy beaches to White Cliffs and the windswept drama of Dungeness. The Pilgrim’s Way long distance path passes within a mile of the school and the area is also frequented by cyclists and other outdoor enthusiasts. It is a popular tourist destination both for UK residents and those from further afield. Locals are delighted they can enjoy the views and tranquillity all year round!
