The Wyvern School is located on the outskirts of the town of Ashford in the heart of Kent.  Ashford contains amenities catering for all everyday needs, including banks, shopping centres, restaurants and a cinema.  Ashford International railway station has direct links with London, including a fast train that reaches London St. Pancras station in 38 minutes, which also offers you a link to France, via the Eurostar. When driving, Ashford offers you the M20 motorway, which is only a short drive away.

The surrounding area contains a number of unmissable attractions.  The historic cathedral city of Canterbury can be reached quickly via road or railway and contains an array of charming architecture.  Canterbury cathedral is one of the oldest and best preserved cathedrals in the city and is open to visitors all year round.  The surrounding towns of Ashford, Maidstone and Folkestone offer a variety of social events and nightlife.

The countryside in the Ashford area epitomises the charm of Kent. The nearby rural town of Tenterden offers visitors a truly unique experience.  The Kent and Sussex light railway, a luxury steam train which departs from Tenterden and winds through beautiful countryside to its destination near Bodiam Castle, a picturesque medieval castle with a mote and drawbridge, is very popular with locals and tourists.

There are plenty of opportunities for lovers of the outdoors with the North Downs Way offering challenging walks with stunning views of the county. Also activities as diverse as cycling, windsurfing and hot air balloon rides are all available in this area of Kent.
