Our School
Please read a letter from the Chair of Governors and our latest Ofsted Inspection report.
Laddingford St Marys is an idyllic village school set in the heart of the beautiful rural Kent countryside. It has been a central part of the community since 1871 and combines excellent standards of education with a genuine village feel.
Our Christian values are at the heart of the school and are the foundations from which everything permeates. We are fortunate enough to have our own Chaplin as part of the staff who offers many fabulous ideas and invaluable support on how to fulfil our role as a Church of England School.
Our vision is of a creative curriculum which strives to provide our young people with not just a thirst for knowledge but an extensive range of skills and a broad understanding of the local and global communities in which we live.
After our last Ofsted Inspection in June 2013, we were rated a Good school. We were commended for our good to outstanding teaching that enabled accelerated progress. The report also praised our pupils for their excellent behaviour and recognised how much they enjoyed the school. (Please follow the link above to our Ofsted Report for more information)
One thing that is apparent to anyone that visits the school is how well our pupils mix together and make genuinely good friendships across the year groups.
We tend to attract pupils from a variety of surrounding villages in Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Maidstone and as a result our year 6 pupils go to wide range of secondary schools including the Grammar Schools, Church Schools, local All Inclusive Schools and private education.
As part of a village community we are lucky to have extremely supportive and proactive parents who are committed to achieving the best opportunities possible for their children. The Friends of Laddingford (PTA) raise impressive sums of money each year through a variety of exciting events which include Pamper nights, Quiz nights, Father’s Day Breakfast and Mother’s Day Cream Teas!
We have a lovely, friendly intake of pupils each year and” pupil voice” is really important to us. The School Council meet regularly with the Governing Body and take their role very seriously - we enjoy hearing the pupil’s innovative and unique suggestions about how they’d like to see the school being run!
Our sound financial position means we are able to completely keep up to date with the newest technologies and innovations. This helps us to make learning fun and rewarding for the pupils as well as provide the latest IT support for staff.
Overall, Laddingford St Marys is a very special village school and offers a highly supportive friendly environment. We value high standards of education with creative, happy pupils and motivated, dedicated staff.
