Frittenden Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School is a popular small rural school in the heart of Frittenden Village. Whilst we benefit from an idyllic location in the heart of the countryside, we are easily within reach of Maidstone, Ashford, Tunbridge Wells and surrounding villages. We currently have 94 children on roll divided into 4 classes, with an intake of 15 into the Reception class and mixed classes thereafter. The school was built in 1845, with a brand new building opened in 2012 which includes: a bright and spacious hall; a well-stocked library; and state-of-the art Computer suite.

As a church school we enjoy a close relationship with St Mary's Church and promote our Christian values of Compassion, Trust, Wisdom and Hope throughout the school. A special ‘Open the Book’ assembly led by a team of church members is held every week, usually in school, but on big occasions we all walk next door into the church.

We are very proud of our school and our Ofsted and SIAS reports. We provide a caring, happy and positive atmosphere in which children can fulfil their potential and grow in self-confidence and respect for the people and environment around them.

To underpin our ethos, the staff and governors aim to:

• Create a happy, secure and purposeful environment where children develop a love of learning
• Help pupils become self-motivated and independent individuals
• Provide a challenging curriculum that is broad, balanced and enables all children to reach their full potential
• Promote spiritual, moral, social and cultural values that prepare the child for responsibilities, experiences and opportunities throughout life
• Foster a positive partnership between parents, staff, governors, the Church and the community

Parents are very supportive and contribute to school life in a number of ways, including the Friends of Frittenden School which is what many schools call a PTA.  The FFS enriches the experience of all pupils at the school by raising funds and organising events that are fun for the children.

The governors and staff of Frittenden Church of England Primary School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our care.
