Frittenden CEP School

Local Area

Our school lies in the Weald of Kent in the small but vibrant, historic, rural village of Frittenden, with about 1000 inhabitants.  Some of our pupils come from other villages nearby.   Frittenden is surrounded by rolling countryside with farmland, orchards, small woods and lots of public footpaths and country lanes.  Frittenden has a strong community spirit with many active clubs and societies, such as tennis, WI, youth club, historical society, gardening society, cricket club and British Legion. There is also a pre-school (housed within the school building), village shop, pub, garage and an active local church.  Some residents work locally, whilst others commute to London or nearby towns, including Maidstone, Cranbrook, Tunbridge Wells and Ashford.

By road and rail (from two stations only 3 miles away) it is easy to get to London, Ashford (with its high speed trains to Europe), Maidstone, the South and Kent coasts and France for work, shopping or leisure.

Sissinghurst Castle

The Weald of Kent suits all the family with beautiful gardens and countryside, local vineyards, typical country pubs, Michelin-starred restaurants, historical landmarks and more.  Nearby, we also have the cathedral city of Canterbury, Sissinghurst and Leeds Castles and many English Heritage and National Trust properties, Bewl Water, Bedgebury Forest park, seaside resorts in Kent and East Sussex, plus the North and South Downs. Together, they help to make Frittenden an exciting and attractive area in which to live and work, as well as to explore and enjoy.
