Local Area

Our school is part of the Tudeley-cum-Capel with Five Oak Green parish in the Tunbridge Wells district and is midway between Tudeley and Five Oak Green.  The hamlet of Capel with its ancient church is a ten minute walk away.  Nearby towns include Paddock Wood, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells which have direct rail links to London and the coast as well as excellent shopping, theatres, cinemas and sports facilities.

The immediate area around school is pleasant farmland and this backs onto our excellent playing fields and playgrounds.  Five Oak Green is very supportive of Capel Primary and the school is involved with the community.  The village is a few minutes’ walk away and there is a village hall and a large sports ground.  In the hall there is a thriving daily pre-school, from where the majority of the children progress to our primary school and where clubs such as Brownies and Guides meet.  Other activities for young and old alike include the older person’s lunch club and adult fitness classes.  The sports ground is used mainly for football and cricket clubs with the highlight of the year being the summer fete.
