About the School
Please read a Letter from our Chair of Governors and a Letter from the Diocese of Canterbury.
Elham Primary School is a small, friendly school situated in the beautiful Elham valley, nestled between the villages of Lyminge and Barham. Staff are friendly and welcoming and work as part of a close-knit, effective team.
The school has a role of around 120 children taught in 5 classes. We have wonderful enthusiastic, hard working and high achieving children who are a real pleasure to teach.
The majority of the buildings are modern and the school has extensive private playing fields, a playground, outside play equipment, an early years outside play area, conservation areas and a small school garden. It lies close to the historic St Marys Church which is used for worship on important Christian Festivals and for other special occasions.
The school has an active PTA. It is at the centre of the village community and is very much part of its social and environmental life.
In the most recent Ofsted Inspection, undertaken in February 2013, the School was adjudged Good, with outstanding features.
