“A chance to take on a headship within a forward thinking federation, with support and challenge of an experienced Executive Headteacher.”

The ASPIRE federation was formed in September 2019 to provide strong leadership and drive school improvement across four small village schools. Three of the schools have worked together for a number of years as the KULB federation.

We are seeking to appoint a head of school for Kingswood Primary School who will work closely with our Executive Headteacher and other head of schools to provide leadership across the four schools within the ASPIRE federation. All four of the Aspire schools have all been rated good following significant improvement journeys. The federation has worked with other schools and offers training to small schools nationally via their training offer – ‘Aspire Events’. The executive headteacher is a trained coach and offers coaching to a variety of leaders.

We aim to provide an education that ensures children make excellent progress in environments where they are valued; are known as individuals; as the staff aim to 'ASPIRE to inspire'. The values that lie at the centre of the federation are Kindness, Understanding, Patience, Honesty, Love and Boldness.

The federation is truly collaborative, with leadership that is collegiate. The federation encourages action research and is on a continuing improvement journey. Professional development is actively encouraged and staff are supported to develop their own specialisms.

The role of Head of School is one of leadership and management of one school with a role across the federation. The successful candidate will understand what it takes to be a good/outstanding school and have successful experience of driving change at a pace. You will be an outstanding teacher who has enjoyed significant whole school responsibility. You will be successful in securing the highest standards of teaching and learning, implementing new systems, improving the use of data, building teams, developing staff and strengthening accountability. The ability to work collaboratively, ensure consistency and to uphold the vision of the Executive Headteacher is essential.

Specific responsibilities will be given dependent on the skills and experience of the candidates appointed, but they are likely to cover development of teaching and learning, assessment, behaviour and safety, and day to day management of Kingswood  Primary School plus a responsibility across the federation.
