An opportunity to shape the future of a thriving village school
Headcorn Primary School is ready for its next stage of growth and we are looking for a Headteacher who is ready for this opportunity and shares our vision that learning is for life. This is an exciting chance to shape a school’s future with the full backing of a committed, ambitious Governing Board.
As our Headteacher, you will have the space, mandate, and encouragement to make the role your own. This is an exciting time to be joining Headcorn as you will play a vital role in defining and leading the next phase of our evolution. With the role comes the freedom to influence our internal and external profile: including a refreshed workforce plan, relationships with partner schools and the wider community and strategic opportunities as the school continues to grow.
We value our staff and want to ensure that their professional development is tailored to their needs. We support your development, your goals, your leadership style, and the areas in which you want to stretch and thrive.
We can offer:
-

A well established, values driven school with a clear strategy and a solid Good Ofsted rating
- Extensive facilities, including playgrounds, a large playing field, heated outdoor swimming pool, care suite, and dedicated learning spaces
- The chance to lead Phase 2 of our site expansion, shaping how our growing environment best serves a larger school community
- A purposeful learning environment supported by:
o A restorative behaviour approach
o Ongoing trauma informed practice development
o Strong Nurture provision
o Dedicated Family Liaison support
- A proactive and supportive Governing Board with a breadth of experience and genuine ambition for the school’s future
- A support structure that enables you to lead confidently: our well developed support services including Nurture Provision, Family Liaison, and an experienced School Office
- Acting up leadership roles to support your transition and give you flexibility in shaping your future team
- Opportunities to craft make up of the senior leadership structure, including the appointment of deputy and/or assistant headteachers. Build the leadership team that best supports your vision
Partnerships, collaboration and future possibilities
We currently benefit from several informal partnerships but the potential for more is significant. For the right leader, the strategic landscape is wide open. Whether through new collaborations, deeper partnerships, or broader strategic options, you’ll have the support of a highly engaged Governing Board to explore, shape, and seize what comes next.
If you’re a leader who:
-
is energised by both strategy and people
- values community, connection, and purposeful education
- wants to shape rather than simply maintain
- thrives with autonomy alongside meaningful support
- is excited by the idea of helping a growing school flourish
...we would love to meet you.
