Hornbeam Primary School is located on the outskirts of the seaside town of Deal. The school is located only 20 minutes walk from the beach, the vibrant town and high street which offers many amazing historical landmarks such as the Time ball Tower. It offers a wealth of educational and inspirational learning opportunities and is a great place to live.
The school is part of a supportive community that works hard to provide new opportunities for our children. We take pride in our school and the experiences we can offer our children. We benefit from a heated outdoor swimming pool, a Forest School, two halls, two playgrounds, a lovely playing field, allotment gardens and adventure play equipment.
Our dedicated staff and governors aim to provide the children with an education that is broad and tailored to meet the children’s needs within our community. The school’s vision statement “Learn to love learning to live life better” reflects our belief that primary education is about equipping children with a passion and enthusiasm for learning, with life skills that will help them build a better future. We provide a nurturing, happy and positive atmosphere in which a child will flourish and grow in self-confidence and independence.
We had a successful Ofsted in 2023, where the Inspectors stated that:
‘Pupils are happy. They are polite, respectful and confident. Pupils are eager to talk about their learning and the range of activities in which they are involved. Pupils are proud to come to this school.’

In April 2019, Hornbeam Primary School became a founding member of the Deal Education Learning Alliance Trust (DEALT) which is a MAT comprised of eight local primary schools within Deal and the surrounding villages. This unique and exciting collaboration of local schools work together to ensure the very best outcomes for all pupils and their families within our town.
