Hornbeam Primary School is located on the outskirts of Deal and is part of the DEALT, consisting of 8 primary schools in Deal.

Hornbeam is a popular and friendly school with access to wonderful local amenities including: Deal and Walmer Castles, Betteshanger Country Park and Deal beach. The school is part of a supportive community and Trust that works hard to provide new opportunities for the children and benefits from a heated outdoor swimming pool, a Forest School, two halls, two playgrounds, a lovely playing field, allotment gardens and adventure play equipment.

The Governors at Hornbeam Primary School are seeking to appoint an outward-looking, inspirational and passionate leader with the ability to build on our school’s strengths, create an ethos where every pupil can flourish and inspire our dedicated team to champion best practice

The successful candidate should be:

  • A visionary leader with the ability to think strategically, developing innovative ideas to set the future expectations of our school.
  • Committed and determined in ensuring that all our children reach their full potential through the provision of a wide and imaginative curriculum, that makes learning a happy experience for every child 
  • An excellent people-manager with outstanding teaching skills who has experience of successfully motivating and coaching staff to continually develop their skills and maximise their career potential.
  • A leader with the ability to exercise strategic, curriculum-led financial planning and management to ensure effective deployment of budgets and resources ensuring the school’s sustainability.
  • Dedicated to a strong partnership with staff, governors, parents and the wider community, fostering good relationships
  • Be a proactive leader within the DEALT MAT. Shape and deliver the school’s vision in alignment with the MAT’s overarching mission and values. Contribute to Trust-wide planning, policy development, and innovation. Actively engage with other headteachers and Trust leaders to share best practice and drive collective improvement.
