Are you looking to advance into Headship in a small school outside of Dover?
Are you looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to drive the direction of an inclusive school which respects Children’s Rights?
Do you want to make a difference to learning for all pupils?
If so, Aycliffe Community Primary School would be delighted to hear from you.
Following the retirement of our current headteacher, we are appointing a Headteacher for September 2026.
Governors are seeking to appoint an individual who, with leadership experience, can embrace the vision, values and ethos of this small school with a high percentage of pupils with Pupil Premium Funding and SEND.
With an inspiring curriculum and supportive environment, we nurture and motivate children, focusing on the whole child so that they have the best opportunity to reach their goals. We have high aspirations for all our pupils and encourage children to develop skills and attributes to enhance their sense of self, contribute to their community and prepare for life-long learning. The school was judged to be Good by OFSTED at their last visit. The school works closely in collaboration with other Dover schools.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrable experience of putting children first, seeking the best for every individual child.
- Strong collaborative leadership
- Effective operational leadership
- The ability to design and deliver a strategic vision for the future of the school.
An advantage would be:
- The ability to demonstrate experience working within a nurture accredited school, applying nurture principles to support the social, emotional and academic development of pupils through a structured, inclusive learning environment.
- A strong understanding of trauma informed approaches within educational settings, with the ability to apply strategies that create safe, supportive and emotionally responsive environments for pupils affected by adverse childhood experiences, in order to promote emotional wellbeing and support good mental health.
The position offers unique challenges, career development and the opportunity to make a significant difference in so many ways to so many people. For more information, please call the school office on 01304 202651 or email office@aycliffe.kent.sch.uk.
