Are you seeking a headship in a dynamic, supportive school with a clear and ambitious vision?
Do you aspire to lead with purpose, placing the wellbeing, education, and personal growth of children at the heart of everything you do?
The Governing Body of St John’s Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint an inspiring leader and outstanding practitioner as our next Headteacher, starting January 2026. This is a rare opportunity to shape the next chapter of a thriving, values-driven school community.
We are seeking a leader who will guide, support, and nurture the most important part of our community, our children.
Our school motto: “All different; all equal; all learning together in God’s world” reflects our belief in the unique value and potential of every child. Rooted in our theological vision, inspired by the parable of the Good Samaritan, we are committed to providing each pupil with the very best education and personal formation, enabling them to become the best version of themselves.
We are looking for a Headteacher who:
- Places the wellbeing and nurture of children at the centre of school life
- Is hardworking, visible, and embodies the St John’s vision
- Leads with collaboration, compassion, and innovation
- Communicates with clarity and warmth with children, staff, parents, and the wider community
- Upholds and develops our distinctive Christian vision while respecting people of all faiths and none
- Is deeply committed to safeguarding and the welfare of every child
In return, we offer:
- Eager, enthusiastic children who love to learn
- A vibrant, well-resourced, and inspiring learning environment
- A dedicated, skilled, and passionate staff team
- A committed and highly engaged Governing Body that will support and challenge you in equal measure
We know that no candidate will possess every quality or experience, what matters most is your willingness to grow, learn, and lead alongside a team that shares your dedication. We are committed to supporting you as you develop in your headship.
We warmly invite you to learn more about our school via our website and the accompanying information. We hope you will consider applying to lead St John’s into its next exciting chapter.
